fAC in partnership with Makers paradise

1790 Shattuck Ave, Berkeley Ca 94709

This space has been in the Firehouse family for 14 years.  It was the second location we ever started fulfilling the need to have a real gallery to show off our studio artist members.    It began as the Firehouse North gallery and ran regular monthly art shows for the first 5 years.  At the same time we hosted space for studio artists and classes.  We collaborated with groups such as our founding member bunch of ceramic artists, figure drawing with Doug Franco and Marko Yamagata, figure painting with Karen Zullo Sherr, yoga class with Shakti Quinton, music for kids with Jon’s School of Music, and many events over the years.  The gallery portion was then run by Mythos Gallery led by Sue Steal and Karen Zullo Sherr for about 5 years.

And starting in 2019 a collaboration with Larry Silva, Chris Flynn of Pacific Coast Community Services, and Firehouse Art Collective formed a 501c3 non-profit called Makers Paradise.  This natural transition led to the name change of the location and all the programming is now under this new team.  Construction from the landlord just finished in Fall of 2022 and there will be new art shows and classes starting.
